Thanks for the kind words, Azzhr. I've actually seen the entrepreneurship movement get even stronger of late because the current economic situation has forced many people to consider alternative career paths. Part of the reason for this is that people are left with little choice – the thought of looking for work when no one seems to be hiring is not too appetizing. Given an alternative between that and starting a new business, the new business often wins.

Like you said, the biggest challenge is seeing beyond the obvious to find the opportunity that fits your wallet and your heart. Many people hear the word business or franchise ownership and automatically think of restaurants and retail outlets, but there are so many more options for today’s aspiring business owners. The myriad of choices allows entrepreneurs to find franchises that they can afford and which they will truly enjoy working—where their personal interests and expertise can be valuable moneymaking tools.

I agree that the spirit of entrepreneurship is growing daily and being your own boss is definitely the way to go. I guess with limited access to capital, I just didn't think I could actually join the party too. Traditional business opportunities require you to have operating expenses like rent, payroll, inventory, etc. budgeted for even before you open, but I never thought of doing something from my home. Thanks, Franchise Guy. You da man!
